        (b) (i) Particulars of Organisation, functions and Duties

Archives are the permanent non-current records of the Government and private agencies embodying experiences of people who built history. Archives are the historical and cultural treasure of the State. They provide material to write history and find facts of the written history. The Haryana State Archives came into existence in 1975. The State Archives Department is situated at Panchkula and its three Regional Repositories are located at Ambala, Hisar and Rohtak.

 (ii) Powers and duties of its officers and employees

 (iii) Procedures followed in the decision making process, including channels of supervision and accountability.

  • The decisions are taken strictly in accordance with the policies framed by the government of Haryana and Rules and Regulation on the subject. The dealing hand deals with the case and submits to the superintendent. After scrutiny, the case he sends the case to his superior i.e.  Deputy Director and Accounts Officer, who further send it to the Director/ Additional Chief Secretary for final approval.

  • The cases are dealt within the prescribed period and according to the rules, regulations and instructions of the Haryana Government.

 (v) The rules, regulations, instructions, manuals and records, held by it or under its control or used by its employees for discharging its functions.
