In order to collect evidence of freedom fighters and other prominent persons of the State, who have seen history being made during their life time the Department has launched an Oral History Programme. Under this programme the memoirs are tape recorded, transcribed and got authenticated by the narrator himself/herself. These transcripts would serves, on the one hand, the purpose of bridging the gap between records and actual happenings and on the other hand serves as a good source for writing history and high-lighting the part played by individually in the freedom struggle movement.

So far evidences of 523 freedom fighters have been recorded, whose district wise names are given at Annexure VI. The Department has also collected a good number of bio-data of Indian National Army Volunteers of Haryana State.
